Pilots covered by the Transportation Department Pilots Plan must
have three years of service to be vested.
You would be eligible for unreduced retirement benefits if you work
until the mandatory retirement age of 65 or if you are prohibited
from performing your the duties of pilot or chief pilot. Generally, you are
eligible for reduced retirement benefits as early as age 55.
Employees hired before July 1, 1989, may retire with reduced
benefits at any age with 30 or more years of service, or are
eligible for unreduced benefits if age and years of service total 90.
For
example, you would be able to retire with an unreduced benefit at age 59
if you have 31 years of service. |
