   Eligibility
As a member of the Military Affairs Retirement Plan, you qualify for monthly benefits if you have three or more years of service. Under this plan, you are entitled to full retirement benefits if, by law or regulations, you are required to retire earlier than age 65.

If you are not required to retire early, your benefits are calculated under the General Employees Retirement Plan (General Plan). The General Plan allows retirement as early as age 55, and pays full retirement benefits at age 65 for employees hired before July 1, 1989, and as late as age 66 for military personnel hired after July 1, 1989.
